Clouds was released by Chaka Khan in 1980. Clouds was a universal anthem across Chicago's early house culture.

Clouds was played across the board by big name Chicago DJs, including, Frankie Knuckles, The Chosen Few and The Hot Mix 5. It was also a favourite of Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage. The 12" version of Clouds wasn't released in the US, which meant Chicago DJs had to pay import prices to get the UK release instead.
