You By Boytronic
You is the first single release by the band Boytronic in 1983. It's a euphoric euro disco proto-trance track. It takes influences from euphoric Neue Deutsche Welle and synth pop.
A highly simplified version of early house culture is that there was a divide between the disco that Frankie Knuckles played at The Warehouse and the new wave that Herb Kent played at the Punk Outs. By the time the producers came along in the mid 1980s, the house DJs were playing both. This track clearly falls into the new wave category. It's a bit fast for the time, but that made it perfect for Ron Hardy, and it was a staple of his DJ sets.
You (Dub Version) By Boytronic
It's unlikely that Faithless had this track in mind when they made Insomnia, but You by Boytronic does sound a bit like Rollo.
