Blind Vision (Instrumental/Dub Version) By Blancmange

Blind Vision by Blancmange was released in 1983. Blancmange were a synth pop duo from the UK with band members Neil Arthur and Stephen Luscombe. Blind Vision reached number 10 in the UK singles chart.

A Stealthy Influence

Blancmange were one of the few British bands in the early 1980s to incorporate disco into their sound. Blancmange asked disco producer John Luongo to work with them, and he initially made a remix of Feel Me. After that, Blancmange asked John Luongo if they could make a record from scratch with him, and this resulted in Blind Vision. John Luongo is known for working with the Jacksons on Shake Your Body (Down To The Ground) and Blame It On The Boogie.

A Groove To Get People Moving

The instrumental/dub version of Blind Vision is a groovy disco funk track lurking on the B side of the 12" version of Blancmange's chart hit. It sounds a bit like 70s Canadian disco made with 80s studio aesthetics. The kick isn't as heavy as many Italo and high energy tracks, but this track is perfect for warming people up and getting them on the dancefloor. The instrumental/dub version of Blind Vision was on rotation on WBMX, and it's a classy track that cut across the Chicago scenes.
